I am pleased to announce that Rosemary Stevens has recently been appointed to the position of Acting Ombuds.

Rosemary has returned to the College after retiring this past January from the position of Associate Registrar, Admissions, in the Office of the Registrar. She is available to assist with issues, problems or complaints with regard to any aspect of student interaction with the College or Student Union and area campus Student Councils.

She can be contacted Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ombuds Office, Room A2026, 519-452-4430 ext. 4755, rstevens@fanshawec.ca. Students can make appointments by contacting Counselling & Student Life Services at 519-452-4282.

Please join me in welcoming Rosemary back to Fanshawe College.

Vice-President, Student Support

Admin Assistant, Faculty of Arts, Media and Design

Please be advised that my Assistant, Marion Jakob, will be away from the College on maternity leave effective Monday, August 24, 2009. During her absence, we have been fortunate to have Laurel Lunnen accept the position of Administrative Assistant to the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Media and Design.

Laurel originates from the Ottawa area and received her post-secondary diploma from Humber College's Print/Broadcast Journalism program, before moving to London in 2001. In the same year, she was hired as an Associate Producer on A-Channel's early morning show where she worked for three years. Laurel went on to work in the Community Relations department for A-Channel, providing support to the Director of Community Relations. In 2007, she became Community Relations Coordinator for the "A" stations in London, Windsor and Wingham.

Some of you may already be familiar with Laurel as she joined Fanshawe in the spring of 2009 as Administrative Assistant to David Belford, Dean, Faculty of Business.

Please join me in welcoming Laurel to her new role in FAMD.

Terry Boyd,
Dean, Faculty of Arts, Media and Design
