Chris Fliesser Retires After 30 Years
It is with regret that I announce that Chris Fliesser will be retiring as the Dean of the Faculty of Technology on August 31, 2011.
Chris has been with Fanshawe College for 30 years. He was hired by the College in 1981 as a professor in the Civil/Architectural Technology Division to design, develop and deliver a new program, Carpentry Techniques. The program is still running today. Since that time Chris has served in a number of roles: Professor, Curriculum Consultant for the college, Facilitator for Faculty Development, Research Associate, Faculty of Education, UWO, Project Leader for online training programs for the construction industry, Chair, School of Building Technology, Dean, Regional Campuses and finally, Dean, Faculty of Technology. Chris has been a proponent for teaching excellence, teacher development, alternate and online learning, and has served on a number of college and provincial committees. He has made a real contribution to the College and to the broader community.
I hope you will all join with me in congratulating Chris on his retirement and thank him for his leadership, his contributions and his years of service to building Fanshawe College. I have learned a lot from him and I want to wish Chris all the best in his retirement.
