Social Science Speakers Series - 36 Hours in Gaza

The next session in the Social Science Speakers Series will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in Room D1060, London Campus, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Peige Desjarlais from Code Pink will speak on "36 Hours in Gaza."

Peige is a third year Political Science Student at Western who decided that political conflict could not be learned simply by sitting in a classroom. As a result of this revelation, she travelled to Gaza to unpack the political, economic and social turmoil associated with the history of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Peige will speak directly to the idea of pragmatic sociology and her experience in Gaza.
