College Policy Manual Changes
Changes to policies 1-B-37, 1-B-40, 1-B-53, 1-D-03, 1-D-08, 1-E-09.
The following policy amendments have been made on the approval of the President, on the recommendation of Senior Leadership Council (SLC) or College Council (CC):
1-B-37: Privacy and Confidentiality of Employee Health Records (**formerly 1-D-12)
Amended (March 28, 2012, SLC-11-10)
Responsibility for this policy was returned to Human Resources. A new purpose was included and the former was edited and relocated under policy principles. Amendments were included as a result of a change to the contracted third party agent. Other editorial changes were made for the purpose of clarity.
1-B-40 Relocation Assistance
Amended (March 14, 2012, SLC-11-09)
Updates to this policy reflect evolving realities in the employment market and to follow current policy format and standards following a review of 11 other colleges, the Ontario Management Board of Cabinet and relocation guidelines issued by the Canada Revenue Agency. The most substantial change is the cap on relocation expenses being raised from 5% of annual salary to 10%.
1-B-53 Perquisites
New (March 14, 2012, SLC-11-09)
1-D-03 Corporate Health and Safety
Amended (March 28, 2012, SLC-11-10)
This policy must be reviewed annually in accordance with requirements set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Minor edits were incorporated to reflect a department title change and the use of the term Community Member in the purpose.
1-D-08 Special Constable Authority
Amended (March 28, 2012, SLC-11-10)
The policy has been amended such that it encompasses special constable appointments by virtually any police service in Ontario, rather than just by the London Police Force, and the complaint procedure has been updated to parallel that of policy 1-B-46: Respectful College Community. In addition, the policy format and style have been updated to current standards and edited for clarity.
1-E-09 Expense Reimbursement
Amended (March 28, 2012, SLC-11-10)
Last spring new Broader Public Sector Directives were introduced and the College was required to quickly amend its Expense Reimbursement policy. Since then a task force was formed to further review the policy. The new version replaces the old in its entirety.
