College Policy Manual Changes

This notice includes changes to policies 1-B-34 and 1-D-05.

The following policy amendments have been made on the approval of the President, on the recommendation of Senior Leadership Council (SLC) or College Council (CC):

1-B-34: Absence Management
Amended (April 25, 2012, SLC-11-11)

This policy was amended to clarify roles, responsibilities and procedures for absence management. The appendices were replaced with new procedures for reporting absences. The "Reporting Sick Leave" section of the procedure has been expanded into two distinct sections, one for "Reporting Non-Work-Related Medical Absences" and one for "Reporting Work-Related Medical Absences". A definition of the contracted third party agent was added. Other editorial changes were made for the purpose of clarity.

1-D-05: Safe College Campus
Amended (April 25, 2012, SLC-11-11)

Amendments to this policy included changes in department names and clarification of manager responsibilities, changes to incorporate advice from legal review, addition of procedures that were previously not attached, changes so that the policy conforms to the procedures (and vice-versa) and editing for clarity and style.
