College Policy Manual Changes

Change to policy 1-B-25; new policy: 2-B-23.

The following policy amendments have been made on the approval of the President, on the recommendation of Senior Leadership Council (SLC) or College Council (CC):

1-B-25 Performance Planning, Review and Compensation Adjustment - Administrative Employees
(**formerly called Performance Development and Review - Administrative Staff)

Amended (May 23, 2012, SLC-11-13).

The policy has been revised with two key changes: performance categories and compensation. The number of performance ratings has increased from 3 ratings to 5 ratings to assist managers to more accurately categorize performance. The compensation adjustments aligned to each of the 5 ratings is in keeping with the College Employer Council (CEC) Compensation Guidelines. The new categories are "Often Exceeds Expectations" and "Development Needed". The rating expectations apply to performance reviews for 2012-2013 performance year.

**VPs, Deans and Directors will discuss the revisions to the policy with Managers and administrative employees in their areas.

Effective April 1, 2012.

2-B-23 Academic Off-Campus Experiential Learning
New (March 21, 2012, CC-11-05)

This policy was created to acknowledge the numerous models for experiential learning available at Fanshawe College, and to define the characteristics of each model, ensuring consistent quality of the experience to our learners and our industry partners.

Effective September 1, 2012.
