Dean's Academic Award

January 26, 2009
Beginning with the 2008-09 academic year, Fanshawe College, the Deans, in conjunction with the Fanshawe Student Union, are proud to introduce the Fanshawe College Dean's Academic Award for Fanshawe College students. This award will recognize annually the top graduating student in each of the College's faculties including the area campuses and the Centre for Community Service.

The recipients of the Fanshawe College Dean's Academic Award will be the six students who have achieved the highest academic standing (i.e. cumulative program GPA) upon completion of any Fanshawe College program in each of:

Faculty of Arts, Media & Design;
Faculty of Business,
Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services;
Faculty of Technology;
Area Campuses;
and Centre for Community Service (Continuing Education).

To be eligible, at least 50% of the student's program credits must be completed at Fanshawe College; however, only marks while at Fanshawe will be used for evaluation purposes and any pass/fail courses will not be used in the final selection process. Full and part-time students (including Continuing Education students) from the previous academic year (September to August) are eligible to be considered for this award.

No application form is needed as all graduating students will be automatically evaluated for the award. Recipients will be notified by Awards and Scholarships and will be invited to accept their award on stage at a November graduation ceremony. Recipients of the Fanshawe College Dean's Academic Award are also eligible to receive/apply for other College and/or academic awards.
