[photo of Lane Trotter] I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Lane Trotter, Senior Vice-President, Academic, will be awarded the prestigious Dean of Graduate Studies Convocation Medal from Simon Fraser University when he receives his Doctor of Education degree from SFU in June.

The medal recognizes the convocating student from each faculty who has achieved the highest level of academic excellence in his or her graduate program.

Over the past four years, Lane has completed a tremendous amount of research and writing on governance and accountability in post-secondary institutions. His work is relevant to Fanshawe College as we continue to develop, particularly in the area of degree granting. With his doctorate now complete, Lane continues to study in this area, which will further support the College and the college system as we move forward.

Lane's accomplishment underscores a commitment to life-long learning and excellence and sets an inspiring example of what can be accomplished with hard work and dedication.

Congratulations, Dr. Trotter!
