Early Childhood Program Hosts Mentor Appreciation Night
On Thursday, November 4, 2010, approximately 100 early childhood educators attended an evening of celebration to honour their contribution to the education of Fanshawe students. The event was held in the James Colvin Atrium at Fanshawe's London Campus.
Sandra Fieber, Chair of Fanshawe's School of Human Services, welcomed the participants as the child care community acknowledged those child care centres who participated in the "Raising the Bar" Quality Child Care Initiative. As well, 22 child care directors who are participating in the "Mentoring Pairs for Child Care" project did a presentation to the group on the effect the Mentor Project has had on their centres, the community and their personal growth as a director. The Association for Early Childhood Educators Ontario donated a door prize of a year's membership to the Association of Early Childhood Educators, won by Lisa James (Morenz), a Fanshawe alumna.
Door-prize winner Lisa James (Morenz); Cyndi Frizelle, part-time Fanshawe faculty member; and Sheryl Ragobar, Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education program.
