Fanshawe College 2010 United Way Campaign

Last year Fanshawe College staff and students made a record contribution to United Way. In total more than $95,000 was raised through special events and donations. Your support helped many agencies in our communities provide essential support to children, families and individuals.

United Way logo The need is still there. Many people are still coping with difficult financial conditions so demand for the services supported by United Way continues to rise.

Many special events will be taking place over the next several months and we encourage your support. As well, your canvasser will be handing out pledge forms and talking to you about the importance of United Way. Together we can help enrich the lives of the less fortunate within our community and make a lasting change in their lives.

Campaign Kick-Off

Back by popular demand, staff and students at the London Campus will officially kick-off the London Campus Campaign with a chili competition on Thursday, October 14, 2010.

Join celebrity judges Mike Callaghan (2009 and 2010 National Chili Champion); Janice Zolf ('A' News); Fanshawe President, Howard Rundle; Fanshawe Student Union President, Joe Scalia and Andrew Leckie, CEO, United Way of London & Middlesex. For $3 per student and $5 for non-students, you will have the opportunity to taste some of the best chili in the region!

We will be serving chili in the James A. Colvin Atrium (formerly 'B' cafeteria), Forwell Hall and 'H' Cafeteria from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Come and join us! Competition is 'heating up' for bragging rights for the 'best darn chili on campus!

Stairclimb
Why not put a team together and climb to the top of One London Place in support of United Way? Staff and students are invited to this event on Thursday, November 4, 2010, between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. More details to follow.

Regifting Sale
On Friday, November 26, 2010 in 'F' Hallway, Fanshawe staff will hold our annual gift sale. Show your support and donate items that are in good condition and come out to the sale! Contact Teresa Arnsby or Sheila Thompson at ext. 4260 to make delivery arrangements for your items.

Share your story!

Have you ever had the opportunity to use the services of United Way? If so, are you willing to share your story with the College community? Perhaps your children have attended Stevenson Children's Camp. Perhaps your parents have had meals delivered by Meals on Wheels. You may have used (or are using) services you didn't even realize rely on United Way funding.

In an effort to put a personal touch on our upcoming campaign, we would like to share testimonials from staff and/or students whose lives have been touched by United Way.
