The Food Network's Chef Michael Smith talks to Fanshawe students about his
career, experiences and what they should expect as future chefs.

Chef Smith, a friend of Chef Scott Baechler of Fanshawe's School of Tourism & Hospitality, was in London for an April 4, 2009, fundraising gala at UWO. When Chef Baechler volunteered his students' assistance with the gala, Michael readily accepted, and dropped in on the class for an informal visit before the big event.

The student volunteers earned high praise from Chef Smith as he presented them to the 350 guests at the black-tie fundraiser for the Bethany's Hope Foundation.

A 1991 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Smith is best known for Food Network shows Chef at Large and Chef at Home. He is currently filming a Chef Abroad series covering 65 countries.
