Fanshawe's Jennifer Begley Named Athlete-of-the-Week

After a big win for the Fanshawe Falcons last night (October 12) over St. Clair College by a score of 8-0, comes more good news for the Falcon squad.

The Ontario College Athletic Association announced on October 12, 2011, that Fanshawe's Jennifer Begley has been named as the association's women's soccer Athlete of the Week.

Begley scored three goals in a pair of matches including a key 3-1 victory over Sheridan on October 5 which gave Fanshawe the inside track to clinching second place in the OCAA West region and a guaranteed home playoff game.

Fanshawe's Jennifer Begley has been named as the association's women's soccer Student-Athlete of the Week.

"Jennifer is a dynamic player," Martin Painter, Fanshawe Women's Soccer Head Coach said. "She has lots of skill, creativity and has the ability to finish. She is very deserving of this award."

"I believe this award also reflects the overall performance of our team."

With last night's win the Falcons women clinched second place in the OCAA West region.
