Fashion Merchandising Students Decorate Downtown Windows
When Fanshawe's Fashion Merchandising students were offered the opportunity to brighten London's downtown for the Christmas season, they jumped at the challenge. Working with 10 retailers and a limited budget, the students designed window displays reflective of the holiday season. Upon completion, all 10 windows were judged by local merchants.
The criteria for judging took into consideration the diverse window conditions assigned to the students. For example, the winning window at 179 Dundas Street does not have professional lighting, nor do many of the others, so that element was removed. Displays were judged on preparation, creativity and theme, use of space, design structure and overall impact.
