Free Smoking Cessation Program Getting Physical on Cigarettes

November 30, 2009
Women who want to quit smoking are invited to participate in a free exercise and nicotine replacement therapy program at UWO. Funded by the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute, the Getting Physical on Cigarettes program aims to help women quit smoking - for good.

All participants in the program will receive a free 10-week nicotine replacement therapy system (NicoDerm patch) and a free 14-week exercise program. The exercise program will be completed at the University of Western Ontario in a private work-out facility (www.ehpl.uwo.ca).

Participants will also have the option to know the results of their free body composition, lung health, vascular health, and fitness tests. They will have the opportunity to know the measured positive changes occurring in their bodies with exercise adherence and smoking abstinence.

If you have any questions or if you are interested in becoming a participant, please contact Lyndsay (phone: 519.661.3211 or email: lfitzgeo@uwo.ca). We look forward to hearing from you!
