Greg Murphy Resigns

It is with mixed feelings that I share the news that Greg Murphy has tendered his resignation as Chair of the School of Contemporary Media in order to accept the position of Dean of Media, Art and Design at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario.

This is a wonderful opportunity and well-deserved recognition for Greg, and we are extremely pleased for him. However, he will be missed very much by his colleagues in the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, as well as by his colleagues throughout the College. There is no question he will be missed by the students here at Fanshawe.

Since arriving at Fanshawe in June 2006, Greg has brought many new ideas to the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, and the School of Contemporary Media. He has developed several new and innovative programs, and he has hired a number of outstanding new faculty members. His creativity, enthusiasm and fresh ideas have definitely raised the bar for the School, the Faculty and the College.

Greg's final day with Fanshawe College is September 30, 2009; he will start his new position at Durham College October 1st.
