International ESL Registration Processes

September 27, 2010
Update from the Office of the Registrar, School of Language and Liberal Studies (English as a Second Language) and International Partnerships

Process review has continued this year to include a review of International ESL registration processes and implement a new fee structure which includes the addition of student ancillary fees.

Student Benefits
International ESL students will now have access to the services and supports provided to all post-secondary International students. This includes student cards, bus pass and extended health benefits, to name a few.

Institutional Benefits
Process review has resulted in the development of a new term structure and improved processes such as block registration and improved reporting of student progress towards goals. These changes have created efficiencies within the registration and fee payment process.

Many other benefits have been achieved which support our goal of simplifying processes, resulting in improved service to students.

Next steps in process review are International Post Secondary Admissions process review, which includes systems updates, prospect management and communication improvements.
