International Students Welcomed to Fanshawe

The International Department and Fanshawe College welcomed our International Students at the Fifth Annual Welcome BBQ on Thursday, September 10, 2009, in Forwell Hall.

The event was very well-attended with over 225 guests including students from all over the world. Some of our newly-arrived students come from China, Korea, India, Argentina, Barbados, Netherlands, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil, Trinidad, Mauritius, Belize, Venezuela, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico and several African countries.

Other guests included the wonderful homestay families who welcome International Students to live with them while studying at Fanshawe College.

Members of this year's Fanshawe Student Union (FSU) team helped welcome the new International students, along with members of the International Club Executive and a wide variety of faculty and staff who continue to support and build International relationships!

A special thank you goes out to Berniece Caughlin, Jan Gavin and their team, for the wonderful food that they prepared for our guests! The warmth and energy was felt by all who attended and we look forward to a great year at Fanshawe College.
