Makaran to Speak at Upcoming Renewable Technologies Conference

Dr. John Makaran, Chair of the School of Applied Sciences & Technology and one of the researchers in Fanshawe College's new Centre for Sustainable Energy and Environments (CSEE), will speak at London's first environmental technologies research conference.

The Wind-Water-Sun Renewable Technologies conference takes place Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the London Convention Centre. Dr. Makaran will talk about renewable energy research at Fanshawe.

He joins a list of speakers including Dr. Ted Hewitt of The University of Western Ontario, London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) CEO Peter White, London Hydro CEO Dr. Vinay Sharma and other speakers from the private and public sectors. Participants - including Fanshawe's Centre for Applied Research, Innovation & University Partnerships (ARIUP) - also will have information booths.

The Fanshawe booth will focus on CSEE and related projects.

The conference is sponsored by the LEDC, London Hydro and Miller Thomson LLP. Admission is $40 per person and includes lunch.
