New Employee Program Reimburses Tuition

Organizational Development & Learning is pleased to present the Tuition Reimbursement Program for College Employees.  The program has been remodeled to promote educational advancement of full-time Fanshawe faculty and staff.   

Effective April 1, 2008, the college will reimburse up to 80 percent of tuition costs for credit courses that lead toward a certificate, diploma, degree or professional designation.  Courses must be taken at an accredited university, a College of Applied Arts & Technology or through a professional association that is recognized by the College.  Courses offered through Fanshawe are not eligible.

Per degree maximum amounts for tuition reimbursement are as follows:
  • CAAT Certificate & Diploma Level - $3000
  • Undergraduate Degree Level - $7500
  • Master's Degree Level - $10,000
  • Doctoral Degree Level - $15,000
To be eligible for reimbursement, employees must submit an application to Organizational Development & Learning five weeks prior to the beginning of the course.  Application forms can be accessed through the Fanshawe Online staff portal.  Employees are eligible to apply for reimbursement as many times as they choose and will be reimbursed after successful course completion.
 
Things to note: upon completion of the certificate, diploma or degree, employees are required to work at Fanshawe for one to two years, depending on the level of training that was undertaken.  Also, programs of study must be consistent with employee career development plans.
