Social Science Speakers' Series Focuses on Power and Transformation
Fanshawe's School of Language and Liberal Studies will present three speakers over the next three months on the topic of power and transformation.
In January, Dr. Scott Veenvliet, a professor of Psychology at Fanshawe, will speak on "The Power of Religion in Transformation." (Thursday, January 20, 2011, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Room D1060, London Campus.)
In February, Constable Michelle Murphy of the Oxford County O.P.P. and Fanshawe Special Constable Nikki Van Leeuwen will address "Luring Online: A Law Enforcement Perspective: How to prevent yourself from being victimized." (Thursday, February 10, 2011, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Room D1060, London Campus.)
Judy Rebick will visit Fanshawe in March to talk about "Transforming Power: From the Personal to the Political." The well-known Canadian journalist, political activist and feminist wraps up the Winter 2011 Social Science Speakers' Series on Thursday, March 17, 2011, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Room D1060, London Campus.
