A Special Thank You to the Siskinds

Susan Blackman is a graduate of Fanshawe's Law Clerk program. She began the program two years ago, fast-tracked to complete it over a year and a half and graduated in December 2007.  

Blackman recounts how her success at Fanshawe was made possible by Bob and Shelly Siskind, who not only paid for her tuition, books and supplies but supported and encouraged her throughout her post-secondary education.  

"Before college I was a shy person," recounts Blackman. "I've known Bob and Shelly personally for many years … with their support throughout my studies I graduated a much more confident person."

Bob Siskind is the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Fanshawe College Foundation. The association attracts donor investments through the leadership of community members, with efforts supporting student success.

Siskind's involvement with fundraising has served numerous organizations over the years. He has sat on the Board and has been involved with the United Way, The University of Western Ontario, the London Community Foundation and the Robarts Research Institute, to name a few. The Siskinds have also made generous gifts to Fanshawe College and otherwise.

"I want to thank Robert and Shelly Siskind because they are two of the kindest, most generous people I have met," says Blackman. "When people support you like that, you feel you can achieve it all; there isn't anything you can't accomplish. They helped me to realize my potential and that is such an inspiration."
