Take Our Kids to Work Day
September 19, 2008
Wednesday, November 5, 2008
Fanshawe College is pleased to announce our participation in The Learning Partnership's national "Take Our Kids to Work" program. We are looking forward to another successful Take Our Kids to Work Day at Fanshawe. This year, it falls on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, and will last for the full work day, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (or when work starts and ends for the parents).
Fanshawe parents, we hope you will participate by bringing your Grade 9 son or daughter to work with you that day. If you are planning to participate, please register your child with Dayan Boyce at 519 452-4272 (or ext. 4272) or email dboyce@fanshawec.ca by Wednesday, October 22, 2008.
At London campus, the day will include a brief welcome and orientation for London participants, a tour of the College, group activities, and individual job shadowing. Students will receive a special Fanshawe ID card with their name and photo. Area campus participants are encouraged to contact Dayan to discuss options and register the students they will be bringing to work.
Remember: the safety of each grade 9 visitor is the responsibility of the participating parent/sponsor at all times.
Details will be forwarded to parents who register. A notice, with the agenda for the day, will also be posted on Happenings closer to the event.
All students will require a permission form, provided by the high school, signed by their parent and returned to their high school before Wednesday, November 5, 2008.
Please ensure that your immediate supervisor has approved your plans to bring your kid to work, and check whether there are any specific confidentiality or safety concerns relating to your area of employment. Please notify Dayan Boyce if your child will be participating in this day, and if there is any need for personal protective equipment. General inquiries may also be directed to Dayan at any time.
Stay tuned for more details!
