Program Description

Interior Design is a three-year co-operative program of study which provides for professional training in design development and the presentation of interior spaces, both in the classroom and through work term experiences. The program provides exposure to business, institutional, commercial and residential interior spaces.

Technical aspects such as: space planning, manual and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD) are emphasized in this program to meet industry standards. Fanshawe College's Interior Design program teaches to the standards laid down by the College Standards and Accreditation group. Our students are encouraged to join a professional organization, the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO). Upon graduation, and after completing the required work term, our graduates are well prepared to successfully sit the qualifying exams set by the National Council of Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) in order to become full professional members of ARIDO.
