Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Develop GIS proficiency in just eight months!
In Fanshawe's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program, you'll learn a complete range of GIS skills to help you increase your marketability. This eight-month intensive program will prepare you for employment in a wide range of land-based industries that require expertise in the use of spatial and tabular data.
The program is project-based, software intensive, and focused on building a foundation in GIS, with the flexibility to focus your studies in your area of expertise. When you graduate, you'll be proficient in using leading-edge techniques in GIS science to create spatial solutions. And you can look forward to career opportunities as a GIS application specialist, GIS programmer analyst, GIS analyst, or in related occupations in both public and private sectors.
GIS is an eight-month Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program. Courses are scheduled for Monday to Thursday evenings to accommodate those already working in the industry.

Other Information
Students are required to have a PC laptop computer for all courses and to have internet access whether attending face-to-face class or online sessions.
*Classes are delivered as face-to-face classroom sessions. All classes will be digitally broadcast and recorded. Full-time and part-time students have the option to watch live the interactive webcasts or attend classes personally for all courses. All webcasts will be archived so students can review material.
