Project Summary

Having developed a new cold brew coffee beverage, Java Blend sought out Fanshawe's expertise to determine the shelf-life of their new product prior to launching. Fanshawe recommended the optimal storage conditions to maximize shelf-life based on the analysis conducted over the 12-month study. 

The Challenge

They needed a 12-month study of the microbial shelf-life of a new cold brew coffee beverage under a variety of storage conditions ahead of launching the product to market.

The Solution

  • Performed monthly tests on samples of the coffee beverage for the presence/absence of microbial growth 
  • Reported on results based on different storage conditions and ingredients 
  • Recommended optimal product storage conditions to ensure maximum shelf-life
