Students in Fanshawe’s Interactive Media Development - 3D Visualization program developed an app that uses augmented reality (AR) to allow visitors to view artifacts displayed by the Museum of Ontario Archaeology. The app scans QR codes, which are placed on signage at the museum.
The London International Airport (LIA) closed the runway for over six hours to allow faculty and students from the Norton Wolf School of Aviation and Aerospace Technology to conduct the airport's first drone-based runway safety inspection. 3D information identifies and quantifies any potential problems like cracks, buckled pavement or any other abnormalities.
Holy Roller is one of two Canadian Sherman tanks to survive the Second World War. Over the years, the tank fell into disrepair due to time and exposure to the elements. Fanshawe students disassembled the tank, refurbished the parts and repainted. Students used VR to replicate the feeling of being inside the tank.
CCC challenged Fanshawe’s marketing students to increase awareness of the importance of these tests. During Colorectal Cancer Awareness month in March, the students increased their Google ad presence and launched a TikTok campaign, a platform they had not previously exploited.

The Exchange Brewery recently developed a new hop seltzer beverage. With Fanshawe's expertise, both refrigerated and unrefrigerated analysis of their product was conducted over a 12-month period to determine the presence of any microorganisms or contaminants.
