Fanshawe students and employees along with first responders and City of Woodstock personnel will participate in an emergency management training exercise at the College’s Woodstock/Oxford Regional Campus (369 Finkle Street) on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The simulation exercise will involve the City of Woodstock activating its emergency response plan to include Woodstock Fire Department, Middlesex London Paramedic Services, Oxford County Paramedic Services and Woodstock Police Service responding to a realistic, multiple casualty event at the Fanshawe Campus.
There will be visible and audible effects and emergency response vehicles on site. Both the College and City of Woodstock would like the community to be aware of the exercise to avoid members of the public being concerned about an actual emergency event on site.

Under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act municipalities are required to develop an emergency management program to help keep people and properties safe in case of an emergency. These types of exercises allow staff and community partners to enhance their knowledge of their plan and identify opportunities to ensure they are well prepared to respond in an actual emergency.
