Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Fragiskatos presented the medals personally to Peter Devlin and Anne Marie DeCicco-Best on February 12. In a post on his Facebook page, MP Fragiskatos shared that President Devlin’s "record of service in the Canadian Forces in Bosnia and Afghanistan and his leadership in post-secondary education are a testament to his commitment to London and Canada."
Anne Marie was recognized as "a local journalist and is our city’s longest serving mayor. She has also played an instrumental role in helping promote issues of importance to Fanshawe at all levels of government."
Andrew Malison is one of only 4,000 recipients of the medal throughout the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). An alumnus of Fanshawe's Business Administration - Human Resources program, Andrew now advocates for military-connected students as a career consultant with Employment and Student Entrepreneurial Services. Andrew was presented with his medal on February 12 at a ceremony together with other CAF recipients.
"Sailor First Class Andrew Malison is being presented with the King’s Coronation Medal for his contribution toward the Military Connected College (MCC) program at Fanshawe College as well as the diligent work he conducts as the social media manager at His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Prevost. Thanks to his efforts both in and out of uniform he has made a significant impact in the Ontario region and throughout Canada to inform Canadians and support the Military community."
