
Family Day is on February 17, 2025!
Our community at Fanshawe College is a vibrant hub filled with culturally diverse people from all over. Whether you’re from the London area or relatively new to our city, we are excited to share with you some awesome events that will be happening here on Family Day weekend. This year, the holiday heralds the beginning of reading week for our students at Fanshawe, and it will be a chance to study, relax and have some winter fun. So grab your friends and come on out!
1. Outdoor Winter Fun
If you are an outdoor enthusiast, there are a lot of fun winter activities to enjoy this Family Day in London, from skiing to skating and more. Boler Mountain offers guests a variety of skiing, snowboarding and tubing packages to choose from. For weekends and holidays, book a reservation ahead of time. If you enjoy skating, there are several outdoor rinks in London, including Storybook Garden's skating trail or public rinks at Victoria Park or Covent Garden Market.
2. London Knights vs. Flint Firebirds
If you're a hockey fan (and even if you're not), you don't want to miss the quintessential London experience of going to a Knight's game! Get your tickets to see the London Knights play the Flint Firebirds at Canada Life Place on February 17.
3. Visit a Museum
London has a plethora of museums for you to explore. From the London Children's Museum, to the Museum of Ontario Archeology, Museum London and more, you can explore local history, enjoy art and learn something new. Most of London's museums have affordable admissions fees, and Museum London simply requests a donation to enter.
4. Retro Dance Party
For those 19 and up, head to the London Music Hall for Raygun: Retro – Family Day Weekend 80s & 90s Video Dance Party on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Enjoy music and dancing at London’s longest-running retro 80s & 90s video dance party.
5. Family Day Recreation Activities
Enjoy the City of London's recreation activities including things like face painting, sports, and crafts that will appeal to all ages. Check out this year's list of activities, locations and times.
