Level 1
Take all of the following Mandatory Courses:
MIDI-6007Artist Management and Development4
The course will provide insight into successful strategies for the management and development of artists. From the perspective of professionals in roles such as Artist and Repertoire, Music Supervision, Distributed Labels, Digital Stream Services and Artist Manager, students will learn to apply stages of development and identify opportunities for artists in different genres. The creation and execution of strategies for marketing, sales, branding, and campaigns to promote those artists and their music will be studied. Students will research the operations of music corporations, medium-sized enterprises, and independent businesses, and make industry connections locally, regionally, and internationally.
MIDI-6008Music Performance 14
Students will be engaged in multiple live performances throughout the term in diverse venues. Solo artists, bands and musicians will deliver compelling and professional live performance as a means to promote, position and profile their music careers. Students will participate in the creation of original material for live performance through songwriting and arranging workshops. Two small to mid-sized public capstone concerts will be produced.

Students will be producing all aspects of live shows and recorded material. The course will be project based and develop students' technical skills in PA, lighting, staging, venue scouting, studio recording and social media production.

A continuation of the course Artist Management and Development, students will further develop skills and gain hands-on experience through professional connections with local musicians, event organizers and venue owners.
MIDI-6011Music Performance 210
Students will be engaged in numerous live performances throughout the term in a variety of venues. Students will engage in self-assessment to identify their growth areas, and to develop their skills and refine their performance and professional growth. Students will participate in the creation of original material for live performance through songwriting and arranging workshops. Two large public capstone concerts will be produced.
MIDI-6012Artist Development Internship4
In this internship, students will interact with music industry business partners, including record labels, radio stations, internet music companies, music publishing and legal businesses, music management companies, touring and live performance venues, live sound and production companies, music education or performing organizations. Students will contribute to the advancement of the organization's music business plan as they refine their professional skills.
MIDI-6013Music Production 24
Building on the course Music Production 1, students will be producing all aspects of live shows and recorded material. The course will be project-based and develop skills in event production including the management of audio, lighting, staging, venue scouting, and media production.

Program Residency
Students must complete a Minimum of 11 credits in this
program at Fanshawe College to meet the Program Residency
requirement and graduate from this program
