Psych & Soc Implications of Palliative

This course is designed to enable students to develop the basic knowledge and skills required to understand psychological and social implications in oncology and palliative care patients and their families throughout the trajectory of the cancer experience. Topics to be explored include historical views on cancer, coping, factors affecting coping and helping relationship, sexuality and oncology, crisis management, psychosocial issues in Cancer/Palliative care and burnout and ethical issues.
