The Joyce Family Foundation Bursary is available to full-time students entering the first level of any post-secondary program at Fanshawe College who have overcome significant hardship and have recently graduated from an Ontario high school. Recipients may receive a tuition payment of $1,500 per academic term, to a maximum of $5,000 annually. $60,000 is available to be allocated annually to students.
This fund is made possible by a generous donation from The Joyce Family Foundation, which is committed to providing access to education for youth who face significant financial barriers and have demonstrated the ability to overcome obstacles and adversity.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or protected person/refugee
- Be a resident in Ontario
- Have graduated from an Ontario high school within the last three years
- Be enrolling in a full time, first year post-secondary program starting in fall 2025
Renewal criteria: To keep the bursary, recipients must commit to working with a mentor each year throughout their program. A brief report from the recipient on their mentorship involvement will be required each year before they are qualified for renewal of this award.
Selection Criteria
You must meet the following criteria to be in contention for the bursary:
- Financial need as determined by the College’s Student Awards office
- Provide a letter of reference from an individual who is aware of your personal circumstances and can speak to your resilience in the face of adversity and potential for success in their post-secondary studies
