Your Learning Experience
In the Digital Communication Management program, our industry-trained and connected faculty will teach you the tools and skills required to work in digital communication. You’ll develop and analyze materials which attract and engage diverse audiences, and sharpen your communications skills to create and distribute content for a range of platforms using multimedia and interactive tools.
You’ll also cultivate strategies for personal and professional development to enhance work performance and maximize professional opportunities in communication management. Through our program, you’ll learn professional communication industry standards, practices and ethics and copyright law in the development and delivering of content.
Gain practical skills in user experience, from conceptualization to implementation of multi-platform programming, and graduate ready to hit the ground running in the workplace. Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared for jobs such as Digital Communication Specialist, Social Media Manager, Social Media Strategist and Digital Media Manager.
This program pairs well with graduate certificates such as Public Relations - Corporate Communications, Marketing Management or Advanced Communications for Professionals.
Digital Communication Management is a two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate program that is intended to prepare students to deliver messages in today's increasingly connected media environment. It is designed for students who want to expand their skills in the production and management of social media, media communications, video and audio production, photography, web and digital design.
Graduates will be able to leverage these skills in content strategy and curation, as well as user experience and design to develop significant opportunities for employment in almost any sector that wishes to engage or educate an audience.

Graduates of this program will possess in-demand skills that are desirable across all employment sectors and that enhance graduates’ advancement potential. In particular, career opportunities exist in the following fields: business, finance, health care, information technology, management, government and non-profit. Develop brand digital priorities and gain alignment across channels, build, schedule, deploy and analyze email campaigns, identify opportunities to improve and optimize digital campaign performance through testing. - Social Media Manager
Act as online brand ambassador, publish and manage social media content using various platforms and create and post shareable videos and images. - Digital Media Manager
Deliver digital advertising campaigns, oversee conversion tracking and analyze results to optimize tactics, insights and strategy.

In this course students will learn about motivations, ethics, team building, leadership, and group dynamics in order to understand what they bring to the team and how to work effectively in teams. Issues related to conflict resolution, leadership, and cross-cultural communication will also be explored. This course covers the various frameworks, tools, and techniques related to digital analytics. Students will learn how to track campaign performance, access visitor behaviour data, and gain the competitive intelligence required to optimize marketing campaigns and improve the online use experience by understanding and interpreting Google Analytics. Topics include metrics and data collection, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Search Engine Optimization (SEO) measurements, and optimizing paid search campaigns. | ||||

This course teaches students best practices in terms of creating and managing social media strategies in order to increase engagement, build a brand, and protect its online reputation. Students will learn the basics of HTML and CSS, as well as how to plan for and create a professional website from start to finish using WordPress as a content management system. Students will also learn best practices for selecting and managing a variety of suitable web content. |
