Overview

The Electronic Patient Record

Introduces students to the concepts and features of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Students will learn about the functionality of the EHR as it applies to health information management, health information technology and allied health. Students will gain an awareness of how the electronic health record supports efficiencies and accuracy with both inpatient and outpatient facilities and how EHRs contribute to the goals of increased patient safety, privacy and security.
