Patents in Canada - Micro-credential
Patents in Canada provides learners with an understanding of patent law and its application. Students will learn about the patent application process and how patent rights are enforced in Canada. Learners will gain hands-on experience navigating CIPO's website and related resources. This micro-credential will provide a basic introduction to patent law in Canada. It is recommended participants complete the Intellectual Property in Canada - Intro micro-credential prior to taking the remaining micro-credentials in the series. Learning Outcomes: 1. Define the term patent 2. Identify types of patentable subject matter 3. Outline the steps in a patent application process 4. Navigate and locate information using the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) website regarding the patent process 5. Define the term patent infringement 6.
