Eligibility Requirements

You can join the ACE program if you:
- Are 19 or older and ready for your next opportunity
- Live in Ontario
- Have been away from school for a year or more
- Can communicate well in English
- Want to advance your education (no high school diploma needed!)

ACE Certificate Requirements
To earn an ACE Certificate, students must complete four ACE-level courses with a minimum grade of 70%:
Mandatory Courses:
- ACE Communications (English or French)
- One ACE Math course
Elective Courses (Choose two):
- Self-Management/Self-Direction
- Computers
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Apprenticeship Math

The Adult Upgrading Contact will send you an email with assessments focused on Math, Reading, Writing, and Digital Skills, as well as the application and registration forms.
A minimum score on these assessments is required. You can complete them from home within a two-week period.

If you meet the minimum score requirements, the Adult Upgrading Contact will connect you with an instructor to develop your personalized training plan.

If you do not meet the minimum score, the Adult Upgrading Contact will refer you to an upgrading instructor at the College or one from our community partners. You are welcome to reapply in the future to verify if your scores have improved.
