This course provides an overview of technology being used to run business operations that includes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), artificial intelligence, big data, and Internet of Things (IoT) amongst other industry-specific software, devices, and systems. From an operations standpoint, it is crucial to understand how technologies are interconnected and in what ways innovation impacts operations. Course concepts explore those relationships along with return on investment (ROI), risk analysis, and OT cybersecurity concerns. The widespread presence of technology means it is integral to almost every aspect of our personal and professional lives. As it is fundamental to nearly all operational processes, students will discuss and evaluate the ethical, legal, and societal implications of technological application.
