Grow At Home: Urban Agriculture - Micro-credential

This microcredential will provide the student with practical knowledge to learn to grow nutrient dense food from their own homes, using sustainable urban agricultural practices that are both good for the environment and the grower. Whether the grower has access to one pot, a balcony, small yard or community garden, this microcredential will be tailored to everyone's needs and upon successful completion students will have the knowledge required and a tangible plan to implement these practices in their own space. Learning Outcomes: 1.Test for soil health and apply amendments to improve soil qualities 2.Grow sprouts and microgreens indoors to complement available growing conditions 3.Create a basic garden plan to implement in their own space 4.Relate sustainable practices in urban agriculture to their own growing space Total class hours - 18
