Leveraging Software-Defined Networks - Micro-credential
As communications and networking technologies evolve, alternatives to traditional enterprise networks have emerged. There is demand in all sectors and industries for employees who not only understand these emerging technologies but can also implement them to save time and money while increasing security of corporate communications. This micro-credential allows current industry employees to build or increase their knowledge of software defined networks (SDN) and Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SDWAN) through a condensed course targeted specifically at the understanding and application of these topics. This course will be self-paced, asynchronous, and non-instructor led. Students will need access to a computer and to the internet in order to access the free, open-source tools required to complete the active learning exercises, read the publicly available articles and other web-based resources, and to connect with the college's LMS. Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand foundational technologies that support SDNs 2. Explore the benefits and opportunities for organizations transitioning to SDNs 3. Review and critically evaluate sample deployments and options. 4. Describe leading SDN vendors and compare functions, features, and solutions. 5. Identify, troubleshoot, test issues in SDN deployments. Total class hours - 24
