Metal Inert Gas Welding Fundamentals - Micro-credential

MIG Welding Fundamentals is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. This introductory micro-credential targets participants with little to no prior experience in welding and aims to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform MIG welding confidently and efficiently. The micro-credential will be offered in a face-to-face delivery format that allows learners to have a practical hands-on experience in Fanshawe's state of the art welding facility. Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand the principles and theory of MIG Welding. 2. Identify and safely operate MIG welding equipment, including power sources, wire feeders, gas cylinders and welding torches. 3. Demonstrate proper welding techniques and positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead. 4. Troubleshoot common welding defects and anomalies to achieve better weld quality.
