Overview
Program Description
This program has been designed for learners who are interested
in expanding their knowledge of painting and drawing at the
introductory level. The courses in the program will provide
students with the basic skills. The courses are delivered in-person
in the fine art studio.

This course is designed to develop observation and illustration skills. Working from objects, models and photographic reference, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of drawing. You will explore various media: pencil, coloured pencil and pen and ink. Pencil sketching skills lay the foundation for a good artist. | ||||

This course is designed for students with a basic knowledge of drawing and perspective. The course will further develop observation and illustration skills working from still life, photography and models in a variety of materials. | ||||

Course will include the history and chemistry of Acrylic painting. Guided discussions of the advantages and disadvantages of Acrylic paint as compared to oil, egg tempera, watercolour and others. Practical hands on studio work. | ||||

A studio course designed to introduce students to a variety of painting techniques including colour and composition skills covering the watercolour medium. | ||||
