Graduates of the Civil Engineering Technician program carry out technical functions related to a broad range of civil engineering fields including structural, municipal, highway and transportation engineering, water resources, geotechnical engineering, environmental protection and infrastructure rehabilitation.
The Carpentry and Renovation Technician two-year college diploma program combines in-class learning with two co-operative education work terms. Students will learn the skills to handle tools, read blueprints, material methods, and construction practices. Graduates will also gain advanced skills in leadership and management through the study and application of quantity surveying, estimating, small business operation, scheduling, and property development.
Civil Engineering Technology is a three-year Ontario college advanced diploma program. Students will learn the design of steel frame and reinforced concrete buildings. Courses are focused on developing the skills to select and test construction materials, proficiency with computer assisted design and drafting, electronic surveying methods, and writing technical reports. Graduating students will enter the workforce with experience through twelve months of paid co-op.
Electrical Engineering Technology is a three-year Ontario advanced diploma program that includes up to 16 months of paid co-op experience. Throughout the program, students will work towards an AutoCAD certification. Graduates of this program will feel confident to wire industrial and residential projects, along with the ability to work on hydraulic/pneumatic systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation.

The Contractor Health and Safety Checklist and Checklist Definitions must be reviewed and completed for every contractor engaged on behalf of Fanshawe College. Note the checklist must be updated at least biannually or whenever the scope of the work changes — such as before every new construction, renovation, demolition and equipment installation project.
