We provide FREE services to people needing help finding employment, employers recruiting new staff, adult learner upgrading programs, literacy programs, career preparedness workshops and more. Academic Upgrading
At Fanshawe, we recognize the hardest aspect of returning to school is taking the first step. We offer a range of free upgrading programs and services to assist individuals work towards their goals.
Job search assistance
We will provide you with structured and individualized support for conducting an effective and organized job search.
Job board
Visit our job board for a current listing of jobs available in St. Thomas/Elgin, London/Middlesex, Simcoe/Norfolk, outside of Ontario and outside of Canada.
Job matching and placement support
Eligible participants will receive supported access to local employment opportunities; i.e. cold-calling, access to the hidden job market, subsidized placement into employment and on-going support and assistance during employment.
Better Jobs Ontario
Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career Strategy) is an Ontario government program designed to help people who have been laid off since January 1, 2005 and are currently unemployed or underemployed and working less than 20 hours a week.

A. We offer comprehensive supports to help local businesses and the economy thrive, including:
- Providing guidance to those workers seeking to file online EI claims;
- Helping employee groups being laid off – seeking new employment, basic needs supports, mental health services/referrals, etc.;
- Posting employment opportunities on our website and at the College;
- Attracting and recruiting employees with the skills you need;
- Arranging staffing interviews and job fairs;
- Referring clients pre-screened to meet your requirements;
- Assessing candidate abilities/skills with our Job Trial option;
- Accessing potential hiring incentives;
- Learning about tax credits and grants available to employers who offer apprenticeships;
- Applying for Canada Ontario Job Grants to offset cost of employee training.
