Micro-credential Series Description

Business Metrics will provide a breadth of enterprise business knowledge and basic data skills. The series of courses will aid learners in designing the most effective visual to tell their business data story.  Learners will explore a variety of techniques to add depth and context to data visuals. The series will also aid learners in developing effective metrics-based communications to support executive, management & process-level decision making.

Business Metrics
Take all of the following Mandatory Courses:
BUSI-1218Communicating Business Metrics
Communicating Business Metrics aids learners in developing effective metrics-based communications to support executive, management & process-level decision making. Learners will identify a long-term corporate goal and then apply concepts acquired in the micro-credential to design relevant metrics that support strategic, tactical and operational processes and develop targeted communications to motivate and celebrate employees progress towards achieving their goal. Learning Outcomes: 1. Differentiate three levels of decision-making in an organization 2. Identify effective metrics that support organizational processes 3. Design metrics to support the three different levels of organizational processes 4. Demonstrate effective communication skills Total class hours: 6
BUSI-1219Visualizing Business Metrics
Visualizing Business Metrics aids learners in designing the most effective visual to tell their business data story. Learners will explore a variety of techniques to add depth and context to data visuals. Introductory level Excel and/or Tableau skills are required. Learning Outcomes: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of basic data visualization techniques 2. Apply appropriate visualization techniques to different metrics 3. Communicate effectively using data visuals 4. Leverage visualization technology to conduct analysis Total class hours: 6
BUSI-1220Understanding Business Metrics
Understanding Business Metrics provides insight into the measurements that drive major functional areas in an organization. As they explore key drivers in Supply Chain, Human Resources, IT, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Logistics & Customer Service, participants will learn: why these measurements are important to organizational health, the interconnectedness of organizational metrics and how to calculate key metrics and identify the business rules that influence data selection. Learning Outcomes: 1. Identify key metrics for each major functional area of an organization 2. Demonstrate how those metrics support the health of an organization 3. Apply calculations correctly 4. Understand basic data processes that impact the calculation of key metrics 5. Apply basic analysis skills Total class Hours: 6
