Image Critique of the Lower Extremity is a microcredential designed to improve the Knowledge, Skills, and Judgement of a working Medical Radiation Technologist. Learners will review images from a PowerPoint presentation to determine corrective measures and to discuss best practices when imaging the lower extremity. Learners will learn to use previous images to adjust the technique for subsequent images within a specific series. Learners can also gain hands on experience in the MRT lab at Fanshawe College. Learning Outcomes: 1. Upon completion of this micro-credential, the MRT will be able to evaluate a variety of images of the lower extremity and make recommendations that will improve diagnostic quality. 2. Upon completion of this micro-credential, the MRT will be able to identify specific bony anatomy used to determine corrective measures. 3.Upon completion of this micro-credential, the MRT will identify how beam divergence, SID, and centering points can affect the proper demonstration of open joint spaces. 4.Upon completion of this micro-credential, the MRT will identify how to use previous images to alter the routine procedure.
