In ideal circumstances, some stress can help us function better. In such situations, our alertness, memory, and energy level might improve (e.g., on tests, in competitions).  If our stress level gets too high, however, it can negatively impact our ability to function in one or more areas of our lives (e.g., school, work, relationships, etc.).  The past 2 years of dealing with pandemic challenges has been hard on a lot of people.  Stress levels have been at an all time high as we have sought to continue to function when many of our usual coping strategies (e.g., hanging out with friends, playing sports, etc.) were no longer available due to lockdown restrictions.  Recent conflicts on the world stage can also add to our stress level, and particularly so if we have loved ones who are in harm's way.  There are times when we have little or no influence to change the source of our distress, but even in these situations there are steps we can take to help ourselves to feel better supported and able to cope.

Here are some tips on how to manage stress
