Is it your first year away from home? Don’t panic. Residence will be your home away from home for this school year.

Whether you live in traditional apartment-style or townhouse-style accommodation you need to prepare for your move. Here are a few things to know before moving in.

When is your move-in date?

Residence move-in will be Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, 2024, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. You can book your move-in time slot by logging in to the StarRez portal.

Where to go on Move-in Day

On move-in day, head directly to the check-in tent in parking lot 10. At the check-in tent, you’ll get your move-in package and receive directions to your building so you know how to navigate to your new home.
Once you arrive at your building, move-in crew volunteers will help you move your belongings into your room. There is no parking in front of the building, so someone will need to stay with your vehicle while you and your things are dropped off at your new home.

Parent/Guardian Orientation

On both Saturday and Sunday move-in days, Fanshawe is hosting information sessions for family and loved ones so you can know what to expect when your student is living away from home. You can attend one of these sessions at 11 am or 1 pm on both Saturday and Sunday in R1042.

Care Packages

Being away from home for the first time can be hard. Surprising your loved one with a letter from home or a care package containing some of their favourite things can help make the homesickness a little bit easier.
